Academic Partnership Program

The HSA Foundation seeks to work with the brightest minds in the field of heterogeneous computing by open collaboration with key professors, researchers, and universities. Our aim is to stimulate the next evolution of heterogeneous parallel computing in Architecture, Tools, Runtimes, Operating Systems, Applications, and Services.

Bringing about the next evolution in computing

The HSA Foundation is looking to develop relationships with research universities looking to work on the next evolution in computing in both hardware and software research areas. We support exploring all facets of the HSA architecture.  HSA systems will open up new algorithms and avenues for research especially for computational problems too large for traditional systems.

Specific (but not limited to) areas include: computer graphics, computer vision, computational photography, deep neural networks, financial risk modeling, and virtual reality. HSA allows addressing the whole system.

Programming languages and programming models are another area we are looking to encourage research. There are no limits to the number of problems just waiting to be solved.

“Neither wisdom nor good will is now dominant. Hope lies in dreams, in imagination and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality.” Jonas Salk
Shaping the Next Generation of Computing Minds

The HSA Foundation is also looking to establish additional teaching centers for HSA to bring about the next  generation of computer scientist, programmers, electrical engineers, and scientists.
